Coastal Landscapes by Walker, Kefauver at Pemaquid Art Gallery
In its 90th year of continuous seasonal operation, Pemaquid Art Gallery in Bristol features the work of many local resident artists. Bev Walker, who lives in Chamberlain in the summer and Topsham in the winter, and Will Kefauver, of Damariscotta, are two whose fine oil paintings attract visitors.

Voigt in the spotlight: I got to spend time recently with Whitefield actress Elise K. Voigt, the delightful person who plays the role of Maria in the upcoming Bath Shakespeare Festival and Camden Shakespeare Festival productions of the well-loved Shakespeare comedy “Twelfth Night,” directed by Stephen Legawiec. This is Voigt’s second season with the festivals, having debuted last summer in their productions of “Much Ado About Nothing.”
Fiddlin’ in the Field at Pumpkin Vine
Members of the public are invited to join the community at Pumpkin Vine Family Farm in Somerville for the second annual Fiddlin’ in the Field concert and contradance. Held under a tent overlooking the back fields, the concert provides a unique opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the land while celebrating community.
Salad Days Celebration is July 14
Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts in Newcastle invites visitors to its 32-acre campus for Salad Days, an annual celebration of local food and handcrafted ceramics, on Saturday, July 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This art- and craft-filled festival features a picnic buffet of fresh salads prepared by area chefs, and guests enjoy their meals on handmade ceramic plates they can keep.
Butterfield Originals at First National
Original watercolors by artist Richard Butterfield can be seen at the First National Bank, at 223 Main St. in Damariscotta, for the month of July. Butterfield has been a serious watercolorist for over 30 years and is grateful for the gift of painting. He spends the summer in Jefferson and winters in Williamsburg, Va.
Review: Monhegan Museum Celebrates 50th Anniversary with Comprehensive Exhibit
The Monhegan Museum of Art & History first opened its doors in 1968. “At that time, it was just a few rooms on the first floor of the lightkeeper’s house,” said Ed Deci, who has been the director of the museum since 1983.

‘Kevin Beers: Points of Light’ at Gleason
Gleason Fine Art’s July show, “Kevin Beers: Points of Light,” began June 28 and will run through July 31, with a reception for Beers on First Friday, July 6, from 5-7 p.m. As always, the public is invited to stop by the gallery, have a glass of beer or wine, and chat with Beers, one of the gallery’s most engaging artists.
Last Weekend for ‘Down Along the Cove’
“Down Along the Cove,” an original project written and directed by Heartwood Regional Theater Company’s artistic director, Griff Braley, closes this weekend with three evening performances in the Parker B. Poe Theater at Lincoln Academy in Newcastle Thursday-Saturday, July 5-7.
