On Thursday, Jan. 11, one can experience a film that one will likely never forget when “Human Flow” screens at Lincoln Theater in Damariscotta for two shows only, at 2 and 7 p.m.

Damariscotta River Association will host a scientific drawing workshop led by artist and science illustrator David Wheeler on Saturday, Jan. 6 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at DRA’s Great Salt Bay Farm in Damariscotta. The workshop is appropriate for beginners, students, and practicing professionals alike. 

Aficionados of the dapper, shiny-black-mustachioed David Suchet version of Hercule Poirot in the long-running British TV series “Agatha Christie’s Poirot” will find a somewhat different take on the Belgian superdetective in the brand-new film “Murder on the Orient Express.”

Many Christmas cards include pictures of angels and harps. At the Tapestry Singers’ holiday concert, several of the pieces will feature accompaniment by concert harp, and the audience will get to see this immense, intricate, and magnificent instrument up close.

The DaPonte String Quartet will perform a free holiday concert in Newcastle on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 3 p.m.

The Dec. 3 opening reception for artist Sally DeLorme Pedrick’s first local exhibit since 2011 was well-attended, even an hour before the official start time of 3 p.m. People were already showing up in significant numbers at about 2 p.m. on the crisp Sunday afternoon at The Library Art Studio, Pedrick’s home studio in Round Pond, enthusiastic to view the artwork on display in her current show, “A Mirrored Age.”
