Jean Elliot Thayer, 89, passed away peacefully on April 11 in Ft. Myers, Fla., following a brief illness.

James M. Newell III, 84, of Brunswick, husband of Margaret (Wells) Newell, died July 1 at Horizons Living and Rehabilitation Center. Born Nov. 14, 1933, in Boston, Mass. he was the son of James M. Newell Jr. and Rives Stuart Newell.

Emma Adelaide Smith-Ackley, born on April 21, 1934, passed away after a long battle with illness, on the evening of July 1, at the age of 84.

Karen A. Seiders, of Boothbay Harbor, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 25, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, with her daughter by her side.

Shirley Jameson (née Kendall), 91, passed away June 27 in Boothbay Harbor, her home of 30 years.

Betty Jean Keller, 89, of Wilder, Vt., formerly of New York City, died peacefully at home with her husband of 56 years, on June 9.

Margaret R. “Peggy” Gaglione, 85, of Jefferson, passed away on June 21 at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta, with her family by her side. She was born on Jan. 3, 1933 in Hartford, Conn. to Dennis Whittle and Violet (Baker) Whittle.

David Chase Carr, of Reading, Mass., passed away on June 19 at Winchester Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.
