Willard “Orm” Ormond Dodge, 80, of Newcastle, passed away on the morning of Oct. 22 at the Country Manor Nursing Home in Coopers Mills. Born in Newcastle on March 9, 1933, he was the son of Charles and Martha (Laine) Dodge.

Virginia “Ginny” M. Morton, 81, of New Harbor, passed away Sept. 21 at her daughter’s home in Round Pond.

Eva Van Strien, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died peacefully on Sept. 5, at the Gregory Wing of St. Andrews Village, Boothbay Harbor, with her husband of 71 years and daughters by her side.

Robert “Bob” P. Scherer, an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, passed away peacefully on Sept. 16 with his beloved family by his side.

Judith Miller Cook, 78, of Boothbay, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sept. 4 at St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor.

Virginia V. Light, 87, of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully at Pen Bay Medical Center on Sept. 17.

James B. Riley, 85, of Jefferson, passed away at his home on Sept. 6, surrounded by his loving family.

Robert P. Scherer, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully on the evening of Sept. 16 at the Togus V.A. Medical Center in Augusta.

Kathryn Verna Swensen Thomson, of Boothbay Harbor, passed away peacefully on Aug. 29 after a long, valiant battle with cancer.

Ervine “Buster” G. Sproul, 90, of Newcastle, passed away at his home on the evening of Sept. 14, with his loving family by his side.

Mildred Elizabeth Athey Baggs, of Walpole, died Sept. 4 at her residence with her family by her side.

Patricia J. Nordin, of Bristol, died peacefully at home on Sept. 19.

On Sept. 12, a funny man with a gentle soul passed away with his loving family by his side. He was very brave and strong, and he loved his family dearly.

Howard Justin Gamage was born on May 22, 1928 in his family home, located at beautiful Back Cove, New Harbor, to parents Charles and Effie Gamage. He had an older sister, Eva Gamage Hall Thompson.

Professor David E. Smith, of Walpole, formerly of Amherst, Mass., passed away on Aug. 30 at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta.
