Lt. Col. William H. Dunning, of Newcastle, passed away Aug. 3 in Newcastle. He was born March 16, 1935 in Gorham.

She was born Molly Morton on May 14, 1934 to Geer and Clara Morton at the old Miles Hospital in downtown Damariscotta.

Albert Amos Simmons passed away on Aug. 18. He was born on Feb. 17, 1938 in Friendship, a son of Amos and Bertha Simmons.

Patricia L. Haley, 83, of Bath, formerly of Caribou, died July 28 at Horizon Living & Rehab in Brunswick.

Raymond H. Ripley Jr., 90, formerly of Wellesley, Mass., died Aug. 8 at St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor.

Alton “Bud” Hall, 77, of Cheyenne, passed on peacefully Aug 21, with his loving wife at his side. He was born Sept. 6, 1935 in Stamford, Conn., to the late Lowell Preston Hall and Evelyn Erma White.

Brian James Kingston, 69, of Warren, passed away peacefully at his home on Aug. 2 after battling a long illness.

A memorial service for Charles P. Howe, who died on June 13, will be held 11 a.m., Sat., Aug. 17 at the First Congregational Church of Wiscasset.

Arthur Brooks Church, 64, a Goshen, N.Y. resident for more than 30 years, passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 23, surrounded by his family.

A memorial service for Katharine “Kitty” Brown, who died on July 12 in Nobleboro, will be held 11 a.m., Sat., Aug. 17 at the Second Congregational Church in Newcastle. A reception will follow the service, also at the church.

James Edward Meyers, 68, of Bremen, passed away at his home on the evening of July 30 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Harry Hendrixson, of Waldoboro, passed away early on the morning of July 9 in the home he shared with his wife, Eleanor.

Her middle name was Eloise, which may have been a portent of things to come. The framing names were Afton and Bates. She had – in the course of a blessedly long life – a number of names.

William J. Belmore, 60, of Wiscasset, passed away peacefully at his home on June 24.
