Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire has named Christina McClure, of Waldoboro, to its fall 2016 dean’s list for academic achievement. McClure is majoring in nursing and is a member of the college’s Class of 2019.

Springfield College in Massachusetts has named Camden Spear, of Boothbay, to the school’s dean’s list for academic excellence for the fall 2016 term. Spear is studying environmental science.

Mount Ida College in Massachusetts recently announced its dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester. On the list are Courtney Brewer, of Boothbay Harbor, and Gabrielle Ericson-Wenners, of Edgecomb.

Regional College Night will be held at the Samoset Resort in Rockport from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, with a snow date of Thursday, Feb. 2. There will be presentations from college admissions and financial aid officials on researching colleges, financial aid, selective college admissions, community colleges, the University of Maine System, employability skills, and local college options.

Luke Huntington, of Newcastle, and Gabriel Purin, of Boothbay, were recently named to the dean’s list at the University of Vermont in Burlington.

Alexandra Gorrill, of Whitefield, was named to the dean’s list of Emmanuel College in Boston for the fall 2016 semester. To earn a spot on the dean’s list, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for a 16-credit semester.

Unfortunately, Ms. Pistole is no longer able to teach the school’s sixth-grade art class (Kathy Lamothe’s homeroom). We thank her for her dedication as our long-term art substitute. Starting on Thursday, Jan. 12, Marcie Abbott took over instruction for this class.
