Adam St. Cyr (48) placed first at the Mt. Valley Youth Classic on Sunday in Rumford. St. Cyr was selected as the Outstanding Wrestler of the day in the grade K-2 division, and was presented with the Gery Dolloff OW Trophy.

Oceanside West won the LA Boys Basketball Invitational, held March 3 and 4 at Lincoln Academy in Newcastle. Oceanside also won the three-point competition, with shooters Cooper Wirkala, Alex O’Brien, and Dustin Cote.

Cape Elizabeth pulled off an improbable 44-42 win over Medomak Valley in the State Class B boys basketball championship Friday night at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.

The Lincoln County based fifth and sixth grade Boothbay Warriors recently won the Cape League championships. The Cape League stretches from Lincoln County to Southern Maine and includes over 100 teams.

Medomak Valley cheerleaders collected numerous awards from the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference.

Medomak Middle School finished second in the Pine Tree Wrestling League East Regional championships, held at Oceanside East High School in Rockland on Saturday.

Wiscasset Unsinkables traveled to the University of Maine at Orono March 12 to 15 to compete in the Maine Swimming Winter Combined Championships, sanctioned by USA Swimming. Eight Wiscasset Community Center swimmers hit qualifying marks during the season to qualify for the championship meet.

The Midcoast Maine Equestrian Team recently competed at the Interscholastic Equestrian Association Zone 1 semifinals. Nine middle school riders from grades six through nine qualified and competed in the semifinals, held in Westford, Mass.

The Maine State Girls Wrestling Championships were held at Massabesic Middle School in East Waterboro on Saturday, March 14. Six local wrestlers from Lincoln Academy, Medomak Valley, and Erskine Academy competed in the championship meet.

Medomak Middle School wrestlers pinned down seven wins this week, beating Troy Howard 54-35, Oceanside 51-29, and Hampden 87-6 in Belfast on March 11, and defeating Hampden 72-23, Mt. Blue 81-12, Mt. View 51-42, and Oceanside 72-15 at Mt. View on March 14.
