Sagadahoc MOFGA, a local chapter of MOFGA, would like to invite you to this free local event. Come and join as the Midcoast Gleaned share their passion and vision to end hunger locally.
Michele Rines and Kelly Davis presented a fascinating session on their Gleaning work at the Chewonki – Morris Farm Local Food Local Hunger forum. Last year they collected 14,000 pounds of food from 3 sources which was then distributed to area food pantries and low income housing authorities.They have a well organized system of communication and collection and are currently working on their plans for the upcoming growing season. They are looking for volunteers …even those who can only go for specific events such as the Apple Gleaning Day in the fall. Please visit Midcoast Gleaned on Facebook.
