CatchaVibe is a world/reggae band that has shared the stage with many international reggae acts including Sister Carol, Iration, Stickfigure, Inner Visions and many more. This band is known to cause dancing frenzies at colleges, festivals, private parties weddings and corporate events throughout New England. So come and join the party 8 pm on Saturday, November 5th as Maine’s premier reggae band returns to the Oysterhead Lounge at 52 Main Street in Newcastle.

Geologist and author David Pope will lead a workshop on the geology of Hidden Valley Nature Center at the nature center in Jefferson. The event is appropriate for all ages.
The day will combine indoor learning with an outdoor exploration of the nature center’s geological features on a hike led by David. Attendees should come prepared for a walk in the woods.

Discover the health-boosting benefits of moving slowly through the forest during a guided “forest bathing” walk. The walk consists of a series of invitations, in which participants slow down and open their senses while interacting with the natural world. Enhance health, wellness, and happiness during this easy walk that covers less than a half-mile in less than two hours. The group size is limited to eight people and registration is required. The group will meet at Porter Preserve Trailhead on Kimballtown Road, Barters Island.

This special holiday trip to the Magic of Christmas at Merrill Auditorium in Portland, with transportation provided by Country Coach Charters will depart from Spectrum Generations: Knox County Aging and Disability Resource Center’s back parking lot, 87 Elm Street in Camden (the former Harbor Audio Video Plaza) at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9. Coastal Community Center, 521 Main Street in Damariscotta at twelve-noon on Friday, December 9.

The Morris Farm in Wiscasset will continue its 2016 series of cooking and food-preparation classes with a class called “Making Soup from Leftovers” at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9. The class, which will be led by Peter Kraus, will take place at the Morris Farm kitchen and learning center.
He will discuss the basics of soup, stock-making, and successful and unsuccessful ingredient combinations. The class also includes take-home recipes and a bowl of “leftover” soup. There is a $10 materials fee. All skill levels are welcome.
