McLoon Crowley, who passed away on Jan. 4, 2026, will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, April 18 with a funeral to follow at 11 a.m. at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home in Damariscotta. Harry W. Sidelinger Sr. Jan. 27, 1954 - March 30, 2026

Harry W. Sidelinger Sr., 72, of Newcastle, passed away at the MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, on the afternoon of March 30, 2026 with his sister and sons by his side. Born in Gardiner on Jan. 27, 1954, he was the son of Harold and Gloria (Erving) Sidelinger.

Walter N. Johansson

Walter N. Johansson, 93, died peacefully on the evening of March 31, 2026 at his home in Pemaquid. Born in Orange, N.J., he was the son of Nils and Ellen (Karlson) Johansson. He graduated from West Orange High School and Stevens Institute of Technology with the degree of mechanical engineer. He played lacrosse and is in the Stevens Athletic Hall of Fame. He was a registered professional engineer.

This story is about the South Bristol ice harvest. My aunt and uncle run the South Bristol ice harvest every year. My aunt also makes cookies, homemade hot chocolate, and hotdogs. They are really good for a cold day! My dad works for the South Bristol ice harvest. At the ice harvest, they show you how they used to cut ice in the olden days. You should go sometime! Ice Harvest is amazing!

Celebrate Earth Month in Alna With Annual Roadside Cleanup

In celebration of Earth Day and Earth Month, the town of Alna invites residents to participate in its annual roadside cleanup event from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 4. The event will begin and end at the Alna town office, located at 1574 Alna Road. Please note that there is no rain date scheduled.

Barbara “Lori” Reed, 62, died March 30, 2026 at the Sussman House in Rockport where she was peacefully surrounded by family during her final days. Lori was born Sept. 30, 1963 in Boothbay Harbor to Robert Reed and Judith Rines Reed. Lori grew up in Wiscasset and graduated from Wiscasset High School.
