Shelly Ann McCauley, born on Jan. 20, 1965 to George and Virginia Berry at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and unforgettable memories.

Lorraine Perry Johnston Bearce Oct. 18, 1929 - April 10, 2026

Lorraine Perry Johnston Bearce, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed quietly at her home in Damariscotta on April 10, 2026. Born in Damariscotta to Woodbury Perry and Madeline (Murphy) Perry on Oct. 18, 1929, Lorraine lived in Damariscotta her entire 96 years, most of those years were spent on the Lessner Road in both her childhood home built by her father and then the home built by her first husband and father of her children, Vernon Johnston.

Carol Ann (Terry) Hansen Nov. 9, 1933 – April 7, 2026

Carol Ann Hansen, 92, of West Columbia, S.C., passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at home after cardiac-related health issues. She was born during the Great Depression on Nov. 9, 1933 in New Bedford, Mass., the daughter of Bradford Terry Sr. and Doris Terry nee Caswell.

Robert ‘Robin’ Simmons March 20, 1953 - Feb. 3, 2026

It is with sadness that we announce that Robert “Robin” Simmons, of Bristol, passed away at Maine Medical Center in Portland on Feb. 3, 2026 after a long illness, at the age of 72. Robert was the beloved husband of Jane Simmons, who passed away in 2013.

The next public supper will be Wednesday, April 15. The meal will consist of corn chowder, salad, biscuits, smothered beef, mashed potatoes, carrots, and pumpkin pie ice cream.

Happening at Skidompha this Saturday, April 11 from noon to 2 p.m. the Maine Publishers and Writers Alliance will host their World of Wonders programs. This free workshop is a collaboration between the Camden Festival of Poetry, the Maine Publishers and Writers Alliance, and the Skidompha Public Library in Damariscotta.
