Historical Society OKs Plan to Restore Pemaquid Mill

Recommendations for preservation of the mill at Pemaquid Falls and for use of the building as a museum have been drafted by a seven-member subcommittee of volunteers with varied professional expertise and accepted by the board of the Old Bristol Historical Society at its meeting last week.

Ann Jacks Bruce Hough died peacefully on Oct. 20, 2019 at Round Pond Green. Daughter of Horace Ansley Bruce and Evelyn Jacks Bruce, she was born March 29, 1938 in Birmingham, Ala. 

Elsie L. Hilton

Elsie L. Hilton, 81, passed away on Oct. 28, 2019 at the Country Manor Nursing Home in Coopers Mills, with her family by her side.

Louis Sinclair

Louis Sinclair, artist, writer and musician, passed away on Oct. 3, 2019 at the age of 76 after a long illness. He was born in Bend, Ore., and was the son of Louis and Rosa Sinclair.

Ecumenical Food Pantry Thanksgiving Baskets

Again this year, through the generosity of many donors and the efforts of many volunteers, the Ecumenical Food Pantry in Newcastle will once again be packing and distributing Thanksgiving food baskets to families in 10 surrounding towns.

Bremen Fire Department Lasagna Dinner

The Bremen Fire Department will hold a lasagna dinner on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 5 p.m. at the fire house, on Route 32 in Bremen. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 529-5326 or the town office. The cost is $12 for adults and $8 for kids.

Medication Disposal Day is Oct. 26

On Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, along with the police departments of Boothbay Harbor, Damariscotta, Waldoboro, and Wiscasset, will host the semiannual Drug Take Back Day.
