Last year, my neighbor Seymour Kagan and I approached the Bristol Board of Selectmen with a request. We noted that the Samoset monument would soon disappear under a thicket of vines and dead pine trees. The rescue of the monument required an intervention.

Lincoln Medical Partners is offering walk-in immunization clinics on Saturday, Aug. 17 and Saturday, Aug. 24 from 9 a.m. to noon in Damariscotta. In addition, parents can call to schedule a well-child visit to ensure that their children are healthy and well, up to date on immunizations, and meet the need for sports physicals before they head back to school.

Iris Tobin Selig, of Damariscotta, passed away on Feb. 1, 2019. Iris was just two months shy of her 71st birthday when she succumbed to multiple myeloma, which she courageously dealt with for about four years.
