Gail Marie (Grover) Andretta, 58 years old, of Wiscasset, passed away while surrounded by loved ones after a long fought battle with lung cancer. She passed on June 11 at 10:58 a.m. in Brunswick, at the Bodwell House.

Celebrate the Summer Solstice with Novel Jazz

Novel Jazz marks the official beginning of summer at Skidompha Public Library, for an evening of classic jazz from the great American songbook on Friday, June 21 at 7 p.m. The band will also include a sneak preview of some of its new Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn compositions that they are featuring in their 2019 season concerts.

Shettleworth to Talk on Civil War Photography

Between 1861 and 1865, Maine sent more than 70,000 troops to fight in the Civil War. The many photographs taken on both the home front and the battlefront comprise a major visual record of the conflict.

Local Man Visits All 50 States

Mark Lazzari, of Damariscotta, recently visited Alaska, his 50th state in the United States to have visited. His daughter, Emma, accompanied him, making Alaska her 36th state to visit.
