Summer Fair, Yard Sale in South Bristol

On Saturday, July 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Union Church of South Bristol will have its summer fair and yard sale. With a gigantic yard sale outside under the tent, a thrift shop, local crafters, yummy homemade baked goods, and delicious lobster rolls in the parish hall, there will be something for everyone.

May Davidson, co-founder of North Country Wind Bells in Round Pond and longtime columnist for The Lincoln County News, is publishing her first book, a memoir about her 90 years of life called “Whatever It Takes.” The book launch will take place at her alma mater, Lincoln Academy, on Wednesday, June 12 from 4-6 p.m. at 81 Academy Hill Road, Newcastle, in the ATEC building.

Nan Louise Grindle Amstutz died on May 24, 2019 in Brunswick. She was born on Sept. 29, 1923 in Westborough, Mass. to Thomas Scott Grindle and Jennie Alice Grindle, who were both originally from the Blue Hill peninsula in Maine.

South Bristol Dedicates New Veterans Memorial

On the day before Memorial Day, a beautiful, sunlit Sunday morning at the West Bristol Cemetery in Walpole, a large crowd gathered to honor South Bristol veterans at the dedication of the town’s new memorial.
