On Monday, Dec. 10, the Central Lincoln County YMCA opened registration for its Winter I Program Guide. The session runs Dec. 26 to Feb. 10.

We are now beginning the first full week of December and Marjorie and I have just installed our small Christmas tree with all its decorations. The angel on the top of the tree is near 90 years old and some of the decorations which belonged to Marjorie’s mother, Kathleen, as well are over 100 years old. We hung both our stockings in hope that Santa will treat us well for being so good.

Brrr … nothing more to say about the weather.

Sorry to be negative, but some customers continue to go through our stop signs and also drive too fast. I know the answer to the problem, but I hate to have to put down speed bumps. This is starting to look like the only solution. I hope we will be able to get everyone to cooperate.

William “Bill” Ellsworth, 80, passed away on the morning of Dec. 6 at the LincolnHealth – Miles Campus following injuries he sustained in an automobile accident. Born on June 4, 1938, he was the son of Matthew and Mary Ellsworth, and the husband of Lois Ellsworth.

Susan (Pratt) Ramsay passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Nov. 28 after a long illness.

Midcoast Humane Seeks Holiday Homes in Annual Adoption Event

at

Midcoast Humane will host its annual Home for the Holidays special adoption event on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 15 and 16 at the shelter’s Brunswick campus at 30 Range Road. The adoption event will feature over four dozen puppies, as well as kittens, dogs, cats, and small animals for adoption. The event will be held Dec. 15 from noon-6 p.m. and Dec. 16 from noon-4 p.m.

Infamy Remembered

It was a quiet, sleepy Sunday morning in a tropical paradise 2,000 miles off the West Coast of America. At 7:55 a.m., fighters and bombers marked with the insignia of the rising sun swooped across the harbor, bombing and strafing. By 10 a.m., the surprise attack was at an end, and so too was the innocence of a generation.

William (Moo Moo) Patterson, 57, of Nobleboro, passed away Nov. 9 at his home, surrounded by his wife, his special granddaughter, Kayleigh, whom he was helping to raise, oldest daughter Dajiah and special brother-in-law, Brian (B.B.) Sawyer.

After a weeklong voting period, the Alna Snowmobile Club swept both the Spirit Award and the People’s Choice Award for its entry in the Parade of Lights.
