This is such an exciting week at Lincoln Theater — from the chance to see the great Sir Ian McKellen as he performs live on the London stage to being provoked by the master filmmaker Spike Lee, and from pondering the complexity of bookshop relationships to enjoying live Dixieland jazz on the Lincoln Theater stage. And then there’s “The Lorax.” The theater’s fall programming is blasting off.

Introductory Italian Language Class
A six-week introductory Italian language course for visitors to Italy will take place at Skidompha Library in Damariscotta on Mondays, Oct. 15 through Nov. 19 at 3 p.m. The course is free of charge but seating is limited.
Damariscotta History A brief report on Damariscotta Historical Society
We both would like to take this opportunity to inform everyone that the Damariscotta Historical Society is hard at work on its cemetery projects. We had a silent auction at Skidompha Library and did very well. We now have printed a 2019 calendar showing Main Street, with many old photos of buildings along Main Street from the bridge to the Baptist church at the intersection of Main Street and Route 130.
Four Winds Training Session Held at GSB
The first Four Winds nature program training for the school year took place at Great Salt Bay Community School in Damariscotta on Tuesday, Sept. 18. The training was led by Lisa Purcell, executive director of Four Winds Nature Institute of Chittenden, Vt. The theme for this year’s nature lessons is “ecosystems.”
