Hi again, dear reader, this is your Marilyn Beane’s World just getting started at the end of another week. I have had a difficult time to get at it. I’ve had a lot of interruptions what with my sweetheart being so sick and all.
Music, Beano, Art Camp at Washington Schoolhouse
There will be no summer vacation at the Washington Schoolhouse in Round Pond (Bristol), as July will be packed with special events including live music, Beano, art camp, and museum hours.
Beachcombers’ Rest Nature Center Beach Exploration Series
Members of the public are invited to join in the fun this summer at Beachcombers’ Rest Nature Center, which is run by Pemaquid Watershed Association. The fun at this nature center starts the week of Tuesday, July 3 with touch tank experience every Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Edgecomb Community Church Steeple Fund
The Edgecomb Community Church has been at its present location at 15 Cross Point Road in Edgecomb since 1881. A prominent local landmark, this historic church has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1987. The Edgecomb Community Church steeple is a symbol and beacon of hope, helping those in need.
Round Pond Column
The Washington Schoolhouse will be hosting the Katahdin Valley Boys on Saturday, July 7 at 7 p.m. The Katahdin Valley Boys are a high-energy bluegrass band, with Round Pond’s very own Steve Bixby on bass.
‘Kevin Beers: Points of Light’ at Gleason
Gleason Fine Art’s July show, “Kevin Beers: Points of Light,” began June 28 and will run through July 31, with a reception for Beers on First Friday, July 6, from 5-7 p.m. As always, the public is invited to stop by the gallery, have a glass of beer or wine, and chat with Beers, one of the gallery’s most engaging artists.
Last Weekend for ‘Down Along the Cove’
“Down Along the Cove,” an original project written and directed by Heartwood Regional Theater Company’s artistic director, Griff Braley, closes this weekend with three evening performances in the Parker B. Poe Theater at Lincoln Academy in Newcastle Thursday-Saturday, July 5-7.
