The Jefferson Boy Scout Troop 216 holiday craft fair originally scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 10 has been rescheduled for Sunday, Dec. 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It had been canceled due to inclement weather.
Shaker Boxes to Benefit Boat Shop
Volunteers Mike Stevens, Bill Thomas and Bob Ives are proud of the first Shaker-inspired oval boxes that they have made to benefit The Carpenter’s Boat Shop in Pemaquid. The boxes range in price from $25 to $55, depending on the size. A nesting set of the three larger boxes sell for $125. The boxes make great Christmas gifts.

Bearl Samuel Keith, 69, of Jefferson, passed away on Dec. 6 at MaineGeneral Hospital in Augusta. He was born on Aug. 8, 1948 in Columbus, Tex. to Cecil Keith and Thelma (Wright) Keith.
Harbor Room Holds First Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner
Cerina Leeman and Taylor Corson, the proprietors of The Harbor Room in New Harbor, opened their doors on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, to hold the restaurant’s first annual Thanksgiving community dinner. The two women wanted to hold this free dinner to provide a place for friends, family, and community members to celebrate the day of gratitude together.

Animal Shelters to hold Home for the Holidays Adoption Event
The Coastal Humane Society of Brunswick and Lincoln County Animal Shelter of Edgecomb will again have their annual Home for the Holidays special adoption event on Saturday, Dec. 16 at both of their locations, 30 Range Road in Brunswick and 27 Atlantic Highway in Edgecomb. The adoption event will feature dozens of puppies, as well as kittens, dogs, cats, and small animals for adoption.

Sheepscott Community Church Supper Canceled
The Sheepscott Community Church Board has decided to cancel the community supper scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 9 as a result of weather forecasts. Safety is the board’s primary concern and it wants to ensure it is not putting anyone at risk. The church will miss the opportunity to share a meal and break bread together, but looks forward to next month’s community supper on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018.
First Lego League Championship Tournament is Dec. 9
Maine Robotics, with support from the Manton Family Foundation, is proud to present the 18th annual Maine First Lego League championship tournament on Saturday, Dec. 9. According to Tom Bickford, the state First Lego League coordinator and director of Maine Robotics, the program is an excellent opportunity for Maine youth to really learn about technology, programming, and science in general.
