Servpro Animal-Shelter Supply Drive
Servpro of Bath/Brunswick is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year by giving back to local communities. The company is collecting supplies for the Coastal Humane Society in Brunswick and Lincoln County Animal Shelter in Edgecomb. Supplies will be collected through Friday, Dec. 15.
Wardman Group Acquires Ocean Gate Resort
The Wardman Group, a Washington, D.C.-based real estate investment firm, has acquired Ocean Gate Resort and has engaged Massachusetts-based Scout Hotel & Resort Management as its operator. Ocean Gate Resort is a 65-room waterfront resort just two-and-a-half miles from the popular town of Boothbay Harbor. A New England favorite for family vacations and special events, the resort opened in the mid-1950s and had been owned and operated by GEM Hospitality Group since 2006.

A Message to Whitefield Residents about Whitefield Elementary School
The education forum: In mid-November, scores of Whitefield residents gathered at the school to widely discuss education for children in the town; a big thanks to all who participated. At the meeting’s conclusion, the “education forum” recorded a number of outcomes describing much that’s good and not-so-good at Whitefield Elementary School, including oral testimony from parents. All the material has been saved, is being carefully reviewed by the district, and will form the basis for a plan to move forward.
Skidompha Secondhand Book Shop Offers 10-For-$1 Paperbacks
The Skidompha Secondhand Book Shop in downtown Damariscotta finds itself overstocked with paperbacks priced at 50 cents. This is good news for book lovers. From now until Christmas, these books will be on special sale at 10 books for $1. The books are primarily fiction, and include classics, bestsellers, and works by some of today’s most popular authors.
