LincolnHealth Adopts Unification with MaineHealth
At its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, Nov. 30, the LincolnHealth Board of Trustees adopted a system-wide reorganization that would align all MaineHealth organizations and their boards under a single board of trustees and a unified financial structure. This change in governance has been discussed for the past year as a “unification” of the health-care system’s members.

Van Lloyd’s Bistro Offers Weekday Comfort Menu
Van Lloyd’s Bistro in Damariscotta will run its new Winter Comfort Menu each week from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, beginning Tuesday, Dec. 5. The new menu will contain dishes like poutine and nachos, as well as heartier items like fresh chili and cassoulet.
Inaugural Villages of Light Celebration Brightens Damariscotta, Newcastle
The first-ever Villages of Light celebration took place in Damariscotta and Newcastle on Saturday, Nov. 25. The event was the culmination of five months of work by a small committee of community members with the goal of bringing more holiday spirit to the Twin Villages.

Kieve-Wavus Hosts LA Students for Community Thanksgiving
For the fourth year in a row, the residential community at Lincoln Academy in Newcastle enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving dinner in the Pasquaney Dining Hall at Camp Kieve in Nobleboro on Wednesday, Nov. 22. About 75 students, teachers, and family members enjoyed a feast prepared by the Kieve kitchen staff.
DRA Mourns Loss of Historic Barn
Passersby will notice a significant change to the landscape at Damariscotta River Association’s Great Salt Bay Farm. Structural damage to the barn caused by recent windstorms made it necessary to take down the 1910 hay barn across the road from the farmhouse on Nov. 20.
Kids Grow Food at Twin Villages Foodbank Farm
“I enjoyed harvesting beets and carrots. I learned there is a place that grows and gives produce to people who need it. It means a lot to me to be a part of it.” So wrote Zoie Wells, a fifth-grader at Great Salt Bay Community School, in a handwritten note to Twin Villages Foodbank Farm Manager Sara Cawthon. Zoie’s note is affirming of the farm’s intent to work with students to foster a sense of community stewardship as well as a connection to the local growing season.
