The principal’s column — WES milk challenge
What is a “milk challenge”? This experiment involved students calculating number of cartons of leftover milk dumped each day from Monday-Thursday. On Friday, we made a challenge to the school to drink as much milk as they could.

The owners of a number of downtown Wiscasset properties have asked a Superior Court justice to halt a $5 million Maine Department of Transportation project designed to ease traffic along the section of Route 1 that makes up Main Street, saying the plans have changed substantially since voters approved them in June.

Patricia A. “Pat” (Ward) Hunt, 69, of Waldoboro, died on Feb. 14 in the Sussman House after brief illness.

Post offices throughout the state of Maine will be closed on President’s Day, Monday, Feb. 20. There will be no mail delivery on that day. Delivery will resume and all offices will reopen at their regularly scheduled hours on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
