Maine Humanities Council to Honor Poet Lawless
Maine poet Gary Lawless will receive the 2017 Constance H. Carlson Public Humanities Prize from the Maine Humanities Council. A resident of Nobleboro, Lawless owns and operates Gulf of Maine Books in Brunswick, an independent bookstore he opened in 1979 with his wife, Beth Leonard.

Midwinter Beekeeping Workshop at Morris Farm
The Knox Lincoln County Beekeepers group will hold its midwinter workshop on Saturday, Feb. 18 from 9 a.m. to noon. It will be at the Morris Farm, 156 Gardiner Road, Wiscasset. Morning refreshments and coffee will be provided by the group. There is no cost, but donations are accepted. Refreshment donations also accepted.
