Winter Storm Watch Withdrawn for Lincoln County
A Winter Storm Watch issued on Sunday by the National Weather Service (NWS) was withdrawn on Monday afternoon for the Lincoln County area. Areas south of Lincoln County, beginning in Cumberland County and extending south into northern Massachusetts are presently under a Winter Storm Warning for Monday night and Tuesday.
Earthquake Rattles Lincoln County
An earthquake registering 2.4 on the Richter scale hit Lincoln County at approximately 1:20 p.m. on January 14, according to Tod Hartung of the Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency (LCEMA) and other sources.

Somerville Fire Claims Life Of 92-Year-Old Resident
A Jan. 24 fire on Crummett Mountain Road in Somerville destroyed a farmhouse and a barn, and took the life of resident Cecil Brann, 92. Brann’s death is being called the first fire-related death of 2013.

Winter Storm Watch Issued for Possibility of Tuesday Snowfall
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a Winter Storm Watch on Sunday that is noteworthy for its lack of focus on a singular event. Instead the NWS advisory warns that a combination of very cold temps, high winds, and the likelihood of a low pressure area offshore extending a trough into the midcoast will bring Lincoln County the possibility of heavy snow beginning late Monday night into Tuesday.
Wiscasset 17-Year-Old Powerlifter Sets Sights On Breaking More Records
Cormac Walsh, 17 of Wiscasset, rocked the youth powerlifting circuit in 2012, breaking several Maine and New Hampshire records, while racking up the wins in his first year of competition. He has set his sights on several more records in the 2013 season.

Outdoor Ice Rink Opening In Waldoboro

Thousands Without Power as High Winds Buffet LC
Central Maine Power Company (CMP) is reporting that 5892 Lincoln County households were without power in the morning hours of Thursday. The power outages are the result of high winds that are forecast to continue to buffet Lincoln County through the day.
