What began in 2007 as a way to involve the Boothbay community in a bit of gingerbread house building fun has grown into a three day exhibit of enormously creative confectionery constructions being designed by novice and professional bakers from up and down the coast of Maine.

Members of the Edgecomb 250th Planning Committee are excited to announce a year-long celebration with special events and activities to honor Edgecomb’s 250th birthday throughout 2024.

Toys for Tots will host a toy drive with the Damariscotta Police Department from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9. The toy drive will take place at the Renys Underground, out front on Main Street.

On Friday, Dec. 8 from 3-4 p.m., Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust will host a family program at Coastal Rivers Salt Bay Farm with a focus on owls of Maine.

Chats with Champions is proud to present local author, Kay Tobler Liss, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, in the Porter Meeting Hall of Skidompha Library. This chat serves as the launch of Liss’ new novel, “Coming Home.”

Spark the holiday spirit with a visit to Historic New England’s 1807 Nickels-Sortwell House Friday through Sunday, December 1-3. Between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. take a self-paced tour through rooms decorated with gorgeous greens and holiday decorations inspired by the history of the house from the early 19th- mid-20th centuries.

Caring for Kids and Bristol Fire and Rescue are having an open house from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26 at the New Harbor fire station.

The Bremen Library will again be hosting its popular wreath sale fundraiser this year. The sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25 and Sunday, Nov. 26 at the Bremen Town House on Route 32 next to the Bremen fire station. The sale will be held at this one location again this year.

Everyone is invited to help fill the Waldoboro Food Pantry van between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Waldoboro Hannaford.

Coastal Christian School’s annual craft fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, in the school’s Wayne L. Brown Auditorium, at 574 North Nobleboro Road in Waldoboro.
