Knowing this was coming I get to write my own obit.

Michael Charles Shaw, of Whitefield, passed away on Sept. 11, 2019 surrounded by my loving (they haven’t seen the will yet) family after a lengthy battle with cancer.

John Henry Parlin Jr., 97, of Waldoboro, died Sept. 16 at the Sussman House in Rockport. He was born May 12, 1922 in Jefferson, the son of the late John Henry Parlin and Laura (Sprague) Parlin. 

Gwendolyn Poland, wife to Edward “Buddy” Poland, and mother to her four sons, Buddy Jr., Frank, and Michael, all of Round Pond, and Dana of Plattsburgh, N.Y., passed away at her home on the afternoon of Sept. 12 surrounded by a large group of family. 

Robert C. Gerrard passed away at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta, on Sept. 13, 2019. He was born in Malden, Mass. on June 17, 1937 to William Francis Gerrard and Mary Compton Gerrard, both of Prince Edward Island.

Nancy Sturtevant Burleson, of Bristol, passed away on the morning of Sept. 6, 2019, after a short illness.

Walter J. Newton, 75, of Warren, passed away, on Sept. 12, 2019 at the BFLI Group Home where he lived.

Glenn Alan Clark, 59, formerly of Jefferson, died Sept. 14, 2019 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He was born Nov. 7, 1959 in Augusta, the son of the late Calvin Clark and Doris (Jago) Clark.

Captain Robert “Bob” Fred Gifford USMM (Ret), age 66, died Sunday, April 28, 2019 at home in Summerville, S.C. following a long battle with heart disease.

Stephen Field Lord, born June 11, 1945 in Waterville, died on Sept. 1, 2019 at CMMC in Lewiston. Stephen died quietly with family by his side. “I came, I saw, I went” was all that Stephen wanted for an obituary.

Wayne R. Elliott, 74, of Damariscotta, passed away on the morning of Sept. 6, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. Born on July 24, 1945 in Damariscotta, he was the son of Norman Elliott Sr. and Florence B. Lane.

Sara (aka as Sally to some) E. (Brewer) Frizzell 76, of Boothbay Harbor, passed away peacefully on Sept. 4, 2019 after a five-year battle with cancer. She was born to Waldo Brewer and Alice Lewis Brewer. She grew up in Boothbay Harbor, and graduated with the Class of 1961.
