Joan W. Hallowell, 66, of Nobleboro, passed away at her home on the morning of June 4 with her husband, Larry Hallowell, by her side after losing her battle with multiple myeloma. Born in Damariscotta on March 27, 1952, she was the daughter of Ralph and Abby (Brown) Welton.

Evangeline “Vangie” O’Brien, 89, of Damariscotta, passed away on the evening of May 31, with her loving family by her side, at Glenridge in Augusta. Born on Sept. 16, 1928 in Rockport, she was the daughter of Edward and Flora (Davis) Noyes.

Stephen Hirsch, better known as Steve, passed away on May 24 at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, Fla. following complications from heart surgery.

Roberta Dow Giampetruzzi, 93, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Nina, in Raymond during the early morning hours of May 25.

Aileana Roselyn Harvey, of Waldoboro, passed away on May 16 at Children’s Hospital in Boston with her family by her side. She was born on May 6 in Portland to Olivia Orff and Nicki Harvey.

Steven Arnold Reed, 64, passed away unexpectedly. He was born on Jan. 3, 1954 in Rockland to Gerald Reed Sr. and Grace (Monroe) Reed.

Charlotte J. Simmons, 78, of Damariscotta, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of May 22 at her home. Born on Feb. 8, 1940, she was the daughter of Ross and Mildred (Bryant) Hanley.

Dorothy L. Giles, 77, of Edgecomb, passed away at home after a struggle with Alzheimer’s on May 20. Born at the family home in Nobleboro on May 30, 1940, she was the daughter of Earl and Ruth (Hildebrandt) Baldwin.

Rev. James A. Smith Jr., 83, formerly of Boothbay Harbor, died May 15 at his home in Statesboro, Ga. Jim was born Aug. 26, 1934 in New York, N.Y. to James A. Smith Sr. and Rena (Marr) Smith.

Rosie Wilt passed away early on the morning of May 25. She was at Cove’s Edge where she was lovingly cared for by her family and the Cove’s Edge staff.
