Joanne Reid Lewis, 71, wonderful mother, exceptional wife and devoted friend, transitioned peacefully to Spirit on the evening of Jan. 10.

Sheila Frances (Halko) Scalzi, 73, of Whitefield, and former resident of Fairfield, Stratford and Naugatuck, Conn., passed away on Jan. 12 at her daughter’s home with her loving family by her side, after a yearlong courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Franklin “Nick” Nichols Folger, 70, died on Jan. 6 at the VA Hospital in East Orange, N.J.

Rev. Thomas Parker Howard, 90, of Lexington, Mass., formerly of Arlington, North Grafton, Franklin, Merrimac, and Milton, Mass., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loving family on Jan. 8.

Marshall W. Spaulding Jr., 94, of Edgecomb, formerly of Dover-Foxcroft, husband of the late Martha E. (Willard) Spaulding, passed away Jan. 7 at Mid Coast Hospital, Brunswick.

Edward M. Lewis Sr., 76, of Bristol, passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 26, 2016 surrounded by his loving family after beating cancer for six years.

Michael J. Sands, 48, of Waldoboro, died tragically in an auto accident on Jan. 6.
