Herman Nichols, 91, died on Aug. 25 at the VA Hospice Unit, VA Maine Healthcare Systems, Togus.

Ernest “Ernie” Elvin Etzweiler, formerly of Walpole, died peacefully on Aug. 1 at Bodwell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brunswick.

Florence E. Barter, 92, died Aug. 21 at Winship Green in Bath.

Chester R. Brewer, 35, of Boothbay, died at his home on Aug. 21.

The Rev. Canon Clayton Kennedy Hewett died Aug. 1 in Waterville.

Daniel Stearns Hylan, 74, of Farmington, died Aug. 16 at home with his family.

John C. VanOrsdell died peacefully on Aug. 18, at Boothbay Harbor’s Gregory Wing.

Sumner F. “Sandy” McFarland Jr., 87, of Limerick, died on July 30 at his home after a long illness.

Faith R. Jones, 88, of Nobleboro, passed away on the morning of Aug. 18, five days short of her 89th birthday, at the Cove’s Edge Nursing Facility in Damariscotta.

Carol S. Schell, of Nobleboro, passed away on Aug. 19 surrounded by her family at Central Maine Medical Center following a brief illness.

A memorial celebration for Natalie “Nancy” Freeman, 88, who passed away April 15, will be held at 3 p.m., Sun., Aug. 16 at the Darrows Barn, Round Top Farm, Damariscotta. Please wear colorful clothes.

A graveside service for Harold M. Dow, of Wiscasset, who passed away on Nov. 14, 2014, will be held at 1 p.m., Sat., Aug. 29 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wiscasset with military honors.
