Maine Oyster, Inc. has applied for a limited-purpose (experimental) aquaculture lease to grow American/Eastern oysters using bottom culture techniques on a 1.55-acre site located east of Lehman Island, Upper Sheepscot River, Newcastle, Maine. This lease would replace current standard lease SHE LE2. Other compatible uses of the area would be permitted.
