Waldoboro 9&10 Little League all-stars dropped two games in the District 2 playoffs, falling to Waldo 14-4 on June 28 and Rockland 14-2 on June 29.

Midcoast 13-15 Babe Ruth All-Stars played three games in the State tournament at Westbrook High School last week.

Rockland 9 – Lincoln 13Rockland defeated Lincoln County 9&10 Little League baseball all-stars 16-13 Friday night in Thomaston. Five Lincoln pitchers took the mound in the loss, including starter Teddy Matel, Chris Sullivan, Sullivan Fink, Sam Laemmle and Bryce York.

Waldoboro 9&10 Little League All-Stars won one game and lost four in the State tournament in Glenburn last week.

Waldoboro 8 – Lincoln 2Waldoboro 11&12 Little League baseball all-stars defeated Lincoln County 8-2 in Belfast in the District 2 playoffs on Wednesday. Channing Soper (10K, 3B, 2H) and Ollie Brown (1 1/3I, 2K, 1B, 1H) combined on Waldoboro’s mound in the win.

South Bristol physical education teacher Liz Giles-Brown published her second book in May, “Insiders Guide to Visiting the Boothbay Harbor Region.”

Waldoboro 9&10-year-old Little League softball all-stars rallied from behind to beat Knox Suburban 17-10. The game ended in controversy and the outcome was not decided until Sunday. A Waldoboro player did not get her turn at bat, a violation of Little League rules.

Tucked in behind an aging barn off the Barters Island Road in Boothbay is the Baldwin Center high adventure ropes course, an elaborate maze of ropes, cables and wood.

Wiscasset 14 – Rockport 4Wiscasset Ford defeated Rockport Automotive 14-4 by six inning mercy ruling on July 3. Chandler Longfellow hit a three run double in the bottom of the 6th to end the game early. The win gives Wiscasset the top seed in the Babe Ruth tournament.

After getting rained out in week four of the summer Run for Fun series, 26 runners re-assembled at Medomak Valley High School Wednesday night.

Lincoln 14 – Camden 6Lincoln County 11&12-year-old Little League softball all-stars defeated Camden-Rockport 14-6 on June 29 to advance to the District 2 championship game against Rockland. Bailey Plourde collected the win (5K, 5H, 8B).

Celebrate Olde Bristol Days by running in the 13th Annual Alvin Sproul Samoset 10K road race, Sun., Aug. 14, at 8 a.m.

Lincoln County 11&12 Little League softball all-stars defeated Rockland 18-16 Thursday night to force a second game for the District 2 title.

Waldo County all-stars defeated Lincoln County 21-3 in five innings on July 7 in Nobleboro in a District 2 preliminary game.
