Bud (a.k.a. Ted) Elwin, 70, of Walpole, completed his Red Sox fantasy last week by playing a Fantasy Camp reunion baseball game in Fenway Park.

Elizabeth Seibel, 14, of Damariscotta, won first place in the solo category at the Dance Makers Inc. New England Regionals on Aug. 1 in Nashua, N.H. in the 13-18 age division.

A one and a half mile long hiking trail is located at the CLC YMCA, located on Bus. Rt. 1 in Damariscotta. The trail links to the GSB School trail, making a nice 30-40 minute walk.

Lincoln County 11&12 Little League softball all-stars successfully defended their District 2 title on July 14 in Rockport. Lincoln defeated Rockland 10-2 in the D2 finals to earn a berth in the state tournament, to be played in Biddeford.

Waldoboro 10&11 Little League All-stars rallied from a 6-0 deficit to beat Knox Suburban 8-7 on July 14 and advance to the District 2 championship game against Waldo County.

Midcoast South 14 Babe Ruth All-stars lost back to back games to Midcoast North on Saturday in Wiscasset to be eliminated from the District 2 series. Midcoast North moves on to the state tournament.

Midcoast South 13 Babe Ruth All-stars won one game and lost two in the District 2 tournament, held at Mt. Ararat Jr. High in Topsham last weekend. It was a frustrating tournament for coaches, parents, and players alike.

Over 200 runners participated in the sixth Strawberry Shortcake Shuffle 5K and Shuffle fun runs on Saturday.

Dirigo 11&12-year-old Little League All-stars clenched their third straight District 5 title Monday night in Augusta, with a 7-4 win over Auburn.
