Tuba Skinny plays New Orleans jazz in the style of the early 1900s. The band has built up a wide repertoire, mixing classics with more modern tunes, including original compositions.

Midcoast Lyme Disease Support & Education welcomes Becky DeKeuster to its Wiscasset Lyme disease support meeting at the Wiscasset Community Center.
DeKeuster is a co-founder and director of community and education of the Wellness Connection of Maine, which operates four of Maine’s eight state-licensed medical cannabis dispensaries. She has nearly 15 years of experience in all aspects of the medical cannabis industry on both the West and East coasts.
Anyone who has been considering introducing medical cannabis into his or her treatment protocol and has questions is encouraged to come to the Aug. 30 meeting. The meeting is free and open to the public. Child care is not provided, so please plan accordingly.

Portland-based food writer and blogger Kate McCarty will discuss the history and future of Maine distilling at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 2 at the Learning Center at Pemaquid Point Lighthouse Park.
Kate has been writing her internet food blog, The Blueberry Files, since 2010. It covers what goes on in her kitchen and in restaurants and drinking emporia in the Portland area, with occasional excursions to other parts of Maine. She is also the author of “Portland Food: The Culinary Capital of Maine,” published in 2014. Her day job is teaching food preservation classes for the University of Maine Cooperative Extension.

Join Mid-Coast Audubon Saturday, Sept. 3 for a traditional lobster bake at the Hog Island Audubon camp. A $40 donation will get one a lobster, clams, potato, corn, and onion all baked over an open fire. Lemonade, coffee, and dessert will complete the gourmet extravaganza. Boat transportation is included and departs from the Audubon dock in Bremen (at the end of Keene Neck Road) at 10 a.m. for those who wish to hike the island, or at noon for others (reserve choice ahead of time). Lunch will be unveiled at 1 p.m. The return ferry from the island will run at 3 p.m.
