The Maine Community Foundation, of Portland and Ellsworth, will hold a community conversation for Lincoln County residents from 7:30-9:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 1, at the Second Congregational Church, 51 Main St., Newcastle. The gathering, the seventh in a series of conversations happening across the state of Maine, will include breakfast.

The community foundation hopes to hear how it can help build on Lincoln County’s strengths and improve the quality of life for its residents.

Join Mid-Coast Audubon Saturday, Sept. 3 for a traditional lobster bake at the Hog Island Audubon camp. A $40 donation will get one a lobster, clams, potato, corn, and onion all baked over an open fire. Lemonade, coffee, and dessert will complete the gourmet extravaganza. Boat transportation is included and departs from the Audubon dock in Bremen (at the end of Keene Neck Road) at 10 a.m. for those who wish to hike the island, or at noon for others (reserve choice ahead of time). Lunch will be unveiled at 1 p.m. The return ferry from the island will run at 3 p.m.
