Joanne P. Farmer, 90, of Wiscasset, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Nov. 2, 2019, after a brief illness.
New Gift Shop Open at Carpenter’s Boat Shop
Just in time for the holiday season, a new gift shop at The Carpenter’s Boat Shop in Bristol is now open. It features handcrafted items: Shaker-inspired oval boxes and trays, Adirondack chairs made from solid cedar, and wooden toys to delight children. All are made by volunteer Friends of the Boat Shop who meet there every week to work together.

This notice is for all motorists that park on any street or road or in the municipal parking lot after hours in Damariscotta. The winter season is upon us. For one night only, “A Night with Janis Joplin” hits the screen at Damariscotta’s Lincoln Theater on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. Captured live last October from the touring production at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts in Los Angeles, the BroadwayHD, multicamera production stars Tony Award nominee Mary Bridget Davies as the legendary ’60s rock and blues singer who exploded onto the music scene in 1967, charting five singles before her untimely death at the age of 27.
Free Veterans Day Dinner for Veterans
The Wells-Hussey American Legion Auxiliary will host a free Veterans Day dinner Monday, Nov. 11 for all veterans and their spouses. A social hour will be held from noon to 1 p.m., with the dinner to follow at 1.

Marian R. Glidden, 97, of Newcastle, passed away on the morning of Nov. 1, 2019 at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta. Born on Feb. 28, 1922 in Wells, she was the daughter of Harold and May Belle Ramsdall; and was married to the late John Glidden Jr. for 52 years before his passing in 1995.
