Y-Arts Summer Camps Fully Staffed with Alumni
The Boothbay Region and Central Lincoln County YMCA’s Y-Arts summer camps are fully staffed this summer with Y-Arts alumni. Y-Arts Arts and Humanities Director Emily Mirabile will lead a staff of young adults who all grew up in her program.
Wine 101 at Rising Tide Co-op
Budding wine enthusiasts interested in learning more and expanding their wine IQ will likely want to come on Thursday, June 7 from 5-7 p.m. for a fun and informative wine-tasting event at Rising Tide Community Market in Damariscotta. At the end of the event, a bottle of wine will be raffled for one lucky attendee.
Volunteers Sought as Courtesy Boat Inspectors
One can help keep local ponds free of invasive aquatic plants by volunteering as a courtesy boat inspector with Pemaquid Watershed Association and Midcoast Conservancy. There will be a training session on Thursday, June 14 at 4 p.m. at the PWA office, 584 Main St., Damariscotta.

Evangeline “Vangie” O’Brien, 89, of Damariscotta, passed away on the evening of May 31, with her loving family by her side, at Glenridge in Augusta. Born on Sept. 16, 1928 in Rockport, she was the daughter of Edward and Flora (Davis) Noyes.
Lincoln Home and PWA Share Art
The Lincoln Home, the retirement and assisted living facility in Newcastle, has recently reached a mutually beneficial agreement with Pemaquid Watershed Association to display some beautiful artwork from the PWA collection for the benefit of Lincoln Home residents and visitors while at the same time assisting PWA to further its mission. The agreement is initially for six months.

The Waldo Theatre will be one of the stops on Saturday, June 9 at ArtWalk Waldoboro, which is held on the second Saturday of each month in June-October, from 4-7 p.m.

The Mondaynite Jazz Orchestra will play Saturday, June 16 at 6:30 p.m. at A.D. Gray School in Waldoboro for Waldoboro Day. This community jazz orchestra will perform a variety of musical styles — traditional big band, Latin, funk, and blues. Vocal numbers will also be included.
