Sandra J. Hilton, 73, of Nobleboro, passed away on the morning of Nov. 17 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Born on Aug. 16, 1944, she was the daughter of Thyrle and Beatrice (Berry) Spencer.

Visit the Yule Goat at Farm’s Holiday Craft Market

The magic of Christmas is furry and four-footed at Pumpkin Vine Family Farm’s holiday craft markets on Sundays, Dec. 3 and 17. In Scandinavian tradition, the Yule Goat brings presents to children at Christmas, accompanied by the Tomten, a farm gnome who looks after the well-being of the animals.

The Boothbay Railway Village museum is celebrating the holidays in more ways than ever before this year. With a keen eye on tradition, the activities are both on the museum’s campus in Boothbay and in partnership with L.L. Bean and its Northern Lights celebration in Freeport.

‘Deck The Homes’ Holiday Decorating Contest

A holiday decorating contest to benefit Caring For Kids, an organization dedicated to helping kids of Bristol and South Bristol, will be held by Bristol Parks & Recreation. The first annual contest, “Deck the Homes,” invites Bristol residents to decorate the exterior of their homes with lights, wreaths, scenery, and other decorative ornaments.

Fruit Trees Planted in Bristol Parks

The Bristol Parks and Recreation Department recently received a $2,000 grant through the Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation to plant fruit trees in Bristol parks. The purpose of the project is to offer free, healthy fruit to park visitors.

Traina Pastel Pieces on Exhibit in Miles’ Hall Gallery

Edgecomb artist Kimberly Skillin Traina will exhibit 30 pastel paintings in the Hall Gallery of LincolnHealth’s Miles Campus in Damariscotta from Saturday, Nov. 25 through Thursday, Jan. 4. Traina’s pastel paintings of nature, water, waves, reflection, marshes, islands, and clouds capture the different qualities of light inherent to the seasons in Maine.
