A Waldoboro man who allegedly choked another individual until they were unconscious and vandalized the person’s car in Searsmont early Sunday, July 2 faces felony charges of aggravated assault and aggravated criminal mischief.

Red Cross and Waldoboro Fire Department Partner to Install Free Smoke Alarms
The American Red Cross of Maine and the Waldoboro Fire Department are teaming up to install free smoke alarms in residents’ homes and help people prepare for home fires. The Red Cross, the fire department, and community volunteers will perform the installations on Saturday, July 22.

Meredith (Merry) Knowlton, 82, died June 24 at St. Andrew’s Village, Boothbay Harbor. Family and friends were by her side during the past year offering support during her illness, and were bedside with her as she peacefully took her last breath.
Sunshine Fair in Friendship
The United Methodist Women of Friendship invite members of the public to their annual summer Sunshine Fair on Saturday, July 15 from 9 a.m. to noon. The fair will feature home-baked pies, cakes, and fudge, as well as crafts, boutique treasures, a white elephant tent, plants, knitwear and big lobster rolls with chips and a fruit cup.
