Fall is right around the corner, and with it comes Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta. Participants are currently being sought for the Giant Pumpkin Parade, a hallmark event of the annual celebration, which will be held Saturday, Oct. 12.
Fill the Y Bus Food Drive is Sept. 24
On Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 1-6 p.m., the Central Lincoln County YMCA, Main Street Grocery, and the Damariscotta Police Department are partnering to host another Fill the Y Bus food drive. These food drives typically fill over 35 boxes and bags with donations to benefit the Jefferson Food Pantry, Ecumenical Food Pantry, Lincoln Academy Cubbies, and local schools’ backpack programs to help serve members in the community in need of nourishment.
Caring for Kids Opens Food Pantry in Bristol Mills
Caring for Kids, a 501(c)(3) serving the children of Bristol and South Bristol, is happy to announce that its public food pantry is open and ready for visitors! The pantry is located between the Bristol Mills fire station and the Masonic Hall, in a well-lighted area.
Volunteers Needed for Oktoberfest Waldoboro

Darling Marine Center, Bigelow Laboratory Co-Lead Major New Project
The University of Maine and Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences are co-leading a five-year initiative that aims to revolutionize environmental monitoring, ecological understanding, and sustainability of coastal ecosystems. A $20 million grant from the National Science Foundation will fund the project, which involves collaborators in research, education, government, community, and economic development, and marine-related businesses statewide.
