Francis Michael Gondek, 88, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully on March 12 at his home. He was born Dec. 23, 1929 in Glastonbury, Conn., son of Frank E. Gondek and Hilda (Urbanski) Gondek.

Florence Lillian (Barlow) Haggett, of Boothbay Harbor, peacefully passed away on March 10 at the remarkable age of 105. Born in East Boothbay on Nov. 13, 1912, she lived in Boothbay Harbor until her 100th birthday.

Edward W. DeCosta Jr., 89, of Boothbay, passed away peacefully on March 7 at St. Andrews Village, Boothbay Harbor with his family by his side.

Jean Phyllis Turner, 94, of South Bristol, passed on the afternoon of March 8. Born on July 9, 1923 in Methuen, Mass. to Maude and C. Roy Perry, she was the youngest of two children.

Otto Howard “Pat” Bowden, 96, of Warren, passed away on March 5 in Rockport with his loving wife of 70 years by his side.

Nathan Edwin Brewer, 30, passed away March 5 at his mother’s home in Wiscasset.

I died in the evening of December 26, 2017.  I was in the Gregory Wing of St. Andrew’s Village, Boothbay Harbor, Maine.  I had the disease my husband and I feared most, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, insidious and incurable.  We finally got an accurate diagnosis in 2014 by travelling to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.  They suspected this disease on our first visit and this was confirmed within two weeks.

Patricia “Patti” Garber passed away unexpectedly Feb. 28.

Stanley “Charlie” A. Vannah Jr., 84, of Waldoboro, died Friday evening March 2 at his home. He was born Dec. 21, 1933 in Waldoboro, a son of the late Stanley A. Sr. and Louise (Creamer) Vannah.

Gertrude “Trudie” Seybold, of Boothbay, died peacefully at her home on March 1.
