On Nov. 29, our beloved father climbed the “golden stairs” for the last time, passing away at 82 years young. A lifelong resident of Bristol, Dad faithfully read The Lincoln County News every week, starting with the obituaries and then the court news, to ensure he was in neither. He made us promise that his obituary, when the inevitable time came, would be neither sad nor boring. Here goes, Dad.

Robert V. Anderson, 80, of Walpole, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024. Bob was born in Staten Island, N.Y. and grew up and attended school on the island. There, he was active as a Boy Scout and Eagle Scout. Bob attended Paul Smith’s College, where he met and married his wife of 57 years, Sandie (Kubie) Anderson.

Rebecca Ann Riser Miller, 38, died Nov. 24, 2024, at her home in Boothbay.

Blaine Kimball, 86, of Jefferson, passed away on the evening of Nov. 24, 2024, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, after a period of declining health. Born in Berwick on Dec. 18, 1937, he was the son of Maurice and Miriam (Hurd) Kimball.

Lise Aubry died after a very brief illness on Friday, Nov. 15. Lise had moved recently to an assisted living apartment at Granite Hill Estates in Hallowell, having reluctantly given up her lovely cottage and studio at Granite Hill after suffering a fall. Lise’s physical health was declining, but her generous and independent spirit was not.

Alta Margaret Boynton Coit, 90, was born on Aug. 3, 1934 in New Harbor. She passed away on Nov. 19, 2024 in Chandler, Ariz.

Sigrun “Sigi” Thissell, 81, of Friendship, passed away from Alzheimer’s disease with loving family by her side on Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, at Breakwater Commons in Rockland.

Howard A. Kaler, 85, of Bremen, passed away peacefully on Nov. 20, 2024, at VA Togus Hospital in Augusta. Howard was born on July 29, 1939, to parents Andrew C. and Jessie M. (Genthner) Kaler.

David Thomas Roper has completed his work on Earth, and, surrounded by his family and loved ones, has left to be with his lord. David was born May 7, 1947, at Maud Boyd’s place in Pittston, to Thomas and Ruth Graffam Roper.

Joyce Gleason Dodge, 92, of Pemaquid Beach, died at home with family by her side on Nov. 10, 2024. Originally from Connecticut, she more recently lived in Bedford, Belmont, and Lexington, Mass., spending winters in Siesta Key, Fla. Joyce moved to Belmont in the early 1960s where she met the love of her life, Jake Dodge. They were married in their home in Pemaquid Beach in May 1966.
