Riverside Masonic Lodge No. 135 and Eastern Star No. 179, in Jefferson, are offering a scholarship, the Don Pierce Memorial Scholarship, to a Jefferson student who is or will be attending a tech school or vocational college.

What great news! In the very near future (this year), we will have a full-time school nurse. I am thrilled to announce that our current school nurse, Kendra Anderson, will be our full-time school nurse. Congratulations to her — and us!

The Lincoln Academy Sophomore-Junior Family Night has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the LA Dining Commons. This meeting will focus on post-secondary education information as the college application process is quite detailed and complex.

Friday, March 30: Report cards issued

The 14th annual Arrive Alive Creative Contest is open to graduating high school seniors in Maine who wish to send a message to their peers about the dangers of drinking and driving and/or distracted driving.

The Guy P. Gannett Journalism Scholarship Fund is seeking applications from Maine students. The Gannett Scholarship provides renewable support for students majoring in journalism or a field reasonably related, including print, broadcast, or electronic media. The fund helps pay tuition to attend an undergraduate, graduate, trade, or technical school.

Zachary Hagar, of Bristol, who is studying nursing at University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fla., made the school’s dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester.

Wiscasset Elementary School pre-k program is now accepting registration for fall 2018. There will be morning and afternoon half-day sessions in September and October which will transition to full-day sessions in November.
