First Adventure Race Comes to HVNC

Midcoast Conservancy and Strong Arm Racing teamed up to offer the first annual Maine Summer Adventure Race on Saturday, July 23 at Hidden Valley Nature Center in Jefferson. Teams and individuals, using only a map, compass, and orienteering skills, ran, biked and paddled a course through Jefferson, Whitefield, Alna, and Dresden.

All Can Play in Little League’s Challenger Division

Both Lincoln County and Medomak Valley Little Leagues started a Challenger Division this spring. The Challenger Division was established in 1989 as a separate division of Little League to enable boys and girls with physical and mental challenges, ages 4-18, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in high school, to enjoy the game of baseball.

Oceanside hit four homeruns, led by Hunter Norton with three in their 18-6 win over Medomak 11&12 Little League baseball all-stars in District 2 tournament play on July 13. Oceanside smashed 23 hits in the win, led by Norton with three homeruns, a double and single, Brady Wadsworth three singles, Alec Radley a homerun and two singles and Alex Bartlett three singles.
