Lincoln Academy’s field hockey team celebrated long and hard on Oct. 12, after winning their first game of the season.

Whitefield girls’ soccer team defeated China 2-0 in the Sheepscot Valley Conference semi-finals on Monday to advance to the championship game, to be played at Erskine Academy on Thurs., Oct. 27 at 3:30 p.m.

Over a thousand runners and 50 teams battled wet conditions in the Festival of Champions at Belfast on Saturday.

Maranacook (67) placed five scoring runners in the top 20 to beat out second place Medomak Valley (104) and third place Lincoln Academy (105) in the KVAC cross country championships, held at Cony High School Oct. 15.

Medomak Valley boys’ cross country team ran to victory at Lincoln Academy Sept. 23, at the Eagles’ Homecoming and only home meet of the season.

The Lincoln County High School Eagle football team hammered Buckfield 80-6 on Saturday on the road.

Medomak Valley’s golf team shot a team round of 155 on Tuesday to record their “lowest ever” score coach Peter Stuart said.

Wiscasset’s golf team improved to 3-1 with a 5-2 win over Dirigo on Monday.

Wiscasset girls’ soccer started out their MVC season with two wins, but has lost their last seven, including two by one goal and two by two goals.

Albert Gray, long time softball coach at Wiscasset High School, announced he is stepping down from the position.

Nick Anderson placed 5th in 17:31, Alex Casas 12th in 18:56, Ivan Johnson 14th in 18:56 and Kyle Baubonis 19th in 19:35 to complete the scoring five.

Area games scheduled for Wed., Sept. 7 have been postponed due to rain.
