The Wiscasset Historic Preservation Commission approved a certificate of appropriateness for the conversion of part of the former Wiscasset Newspaper office, at 47 Gardiner Road, into an office and water laboratory. The rest of the building could become an apartment or another office.

Central Maine Power work crews have been making progress returning power to Lincoln County households, however, a number of shelters remain available. As of November 6 at 3 p.m., the following warming centers are open to the public in Lincoln County, according to The Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency.
Tractor-Trailer Tips While Unloading Lime in Damariscotta
A tractor-trailer in the process of unloading agricultural lime at the Damariscotta River Association’s Great Salt Bay Farm and Heritage Center in Damariscotta tipped over the morning of Monday, Nov. 6. No injuries were reported, according to the Damariscotta Police Department.
Almost 4,000 Lincoln County Households Without Power
As evening settled in on Sunday, almost a week after a major wind storm knocked out power for over 21,000 Lincoln County residents, a total of 3979 area households remained without electricity, according to the 4:44 p.m. report from Central Maine Power Co. That total put Lincoln County in the unenviable position of leading the state in remaining power outages, according to information from CMP.

Resident Escapes Fire at Wiscasset Mobile Home
Firefighters from seven local departments battled a fire at 492 Lowelltown Road in Wiscasset the morning of Sunday, Nov. 5. The single occupant of the mobile home was able to exit the building safely and was brought to a local hospital for evaluation.
