Donald Wayne Russell, “Russ,” 80, passed away on March 25, 2024 at his home in Lexington, Va., after three years of in-home hospice care for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Brian Russell Rego, 72, passed away April 6, 2024, with family at his side.

Capt. Ted Schmidt, 89, passed away on the morning of Friday, April 5, 2024. He was born on Dec. 12, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio, to Norman W. Schmidt and Ruth L. Hubler.

Shiela Louise (McNaughton) Maxcy, age 82, of Waldoboro, passed away on Easter Sunday at Harbor View Cottage in Newcastle with her loving husband and daughter by her side. During her last hours, Dale told her “The greatest gift I ever received was from your mom and dad, and that was you.”

Benjamin Rivers Ogburn, M.D., 92, of Tallahassee, Fla., and South Bristol, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, March 14, 2024. He was born in Lawrenceville, Va., to William Jones Ogburn and Lena Rivers (née Jones) Ogburn on June 22, 1931. He was the fifth of six children, all of whom have predeceased him. He was raised on a dairy farm and retired as a respected psychiatrist, who spent over 36 years giving service to his country, achieving rank of captain in the U.S. Navy Reserves.

Caroline R. Norwood, 38 years old, was born on Oct. 1, 1985, and went to be with the lord on Monday, the 25th of March, 2024.

Hilda Ives Wiley, of Brunswick, died at home on March 28, 2024, from colon cancer. She was 46 years old.

Fern Melissa (Weston) Heath, 82, of Searsmont, passed away peacefully at the Sussman House in Rockport surrounded by family, on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 9:30 p.m.

Mark Edward Johnson, 60, of Dresden, passed away unexpectedly on March 29, 2024.

Ellen Gordon passed away peacefully at Cove’s Edge on March 29, 2024, surrounded by her family. Ellen was born in Washington, D.C. She attended the National Cathedral School and went on to Mount Holyoke College and George Washington University.

Barry Gene Pitcher, age 78, lifelong Washington resident, husband of M. Joyce Pitcher, died March 20, 2024 at Togus VA, after a period of declining health.
