It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Lee Jayroe, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, on Dec. 30, 2024, at her home on South Mountain Road in Jefferson.

Samuel D. Soule passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024, at his home on Westport Island.

Cynthia G. Allen unexpectedly passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 20, 2024 with her loving family by her side. She was born June 28, 1936 in Malden, Mass. Her parents were Charles M. Giles and Eleanor Hatch Giles. Her mother died in childbirth and her father was killed in a tragic boating accident on East Grand Lake when Cynthia was 11 years old. Cynthia was raised by her great aunt and uncle, Emma and George Singer. She grew up on Glidden Street in Newcastle. Despite losing both of her parents at a young age, she had a very good childhood and always loved Maine.

Peter Nathaniel Coffin, 103, passed away peacefully on Dec. 22, 2024 in the arms of his granddaughter. He was born on Nov. 23, 1921 in Hudson, N.Y. to Rachel Anna Jones and Tristram Coffin.

Tami passed away Dec. 23, 2024 after years of declining health. She passed away with her family by her side. She was 62.

Allen H. Millett Jr., 70, of Damariscotta, has passed away unexpectedly from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Dec. 21, 2024. The shock of his passing was amplified having taken place so close to Christmas and has been felt deeply by family and friends.

It is with great sadness the family of Onofrio Bruno Sabatine shares his passing. Onofrio, known to his friends as “Nerf,” was born in Rosette, Pa. on March 27, 1935, the son of Nicholas and Mary.

Sarah Katharine “Kate”/“Kathy” Foster died peacefully on Dec. 7, 2024 at the age of 65.

Frances Josephine (House) Mank, 93, of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully on Dec. 18, 2024, at Harborview Cottage in Newcastle surrounded by loved ones. Born in Waldoboro on Jan. 14, 1931, she was the daughter of Elbridge and Shirley (Decosta) House.

Dr. Paul Evan Hartman was born in Englewood, N.J. in 1935. The family moved frequently as his father was in YMCA work. His 1953 high school graduation was in Worthington, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus, Ohio.

Robert Sykes III, a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 20, 2024, at the age of 51. Known for his love of the outdoors and his adventurous spirit, Robert found joy in hunting, fishing, and exploring the beauty of nature. His legacy will live on through the many memories he created with his family and friends, and his deep connection to the world around him.
