The Lincoln Home recognizes the growing desire for seniors to have a short-term stay option for a variety of needs. Executive Director Lorrie Winslow has been instrumental in upgrading a beautifully appointed apartment with an incredible view of the Damariscotta River. The apartment has new paint and flooring, as well as a new bathroom and kitchenette. These features, along with upscale furniture and local art, create a cozy haven to witness the ever-changing moods of the river and sky.
Old Bristol Historical Society Publishes Pemaquid Falls Mills Booklet
A 20-page booklet, “The Mills at Pemaquid,” by local history writer Pete Hope has been published by the Old Bristol Historical Society.
Conservancy Accepts Conservation Easement in Waldoboro
On Dec. 23, Midcoast Conservancy accepted a conservation easement on 49 acres of land, owned by Jim Doble in Waldoboro. The property, near Clarry Hill Preserve, connects to several conservation easements, and the protected land totals to nearly 700 acres for wildlife habitat, clean air, and water filtration.
Gear Rentals at Hidden Valley
Midcoast Conservancy will be offering affordable rental equipment for the whole family, at Hidden Valley Nature Center in Jefferson. Outdoor enthusiasts are encouraged to try out Nordic skiing, fat tire biking, or snowshoeing on the 25+ miles of groomed trails at Hidden Valley.
Lions Deliver Christmas Baskets
Eight members of the Bristol Area Lions Club, and three members of the Leeman family, delivered 47 Christmas baskets to families in Bristol and South Bristol, on Dec. 19.
Class on Cardinals
Lee Emmons, author of the “Backyard Wildlife” column in The Lincoln County News, is offering a one-hour Zoom class on northern cardinals. The class will cover ways to attract and feed this beloved bird. Special emphasis will be placed on providing shelter in winter.
Food Pantries
The Alna Food Pantry is in the basement of the Alna town office, 1574 Alna Road. The pantry is open from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, and 2-6 p.m. Thursday. The pantry allows one visit per week. Area residents are welcome.

Community Giving Tree Success
The Central Lincoln County YMCA supported nearly twice the amount of families this year, than in 2019, with its annual Community Tree of Giving.
Free Community Christmas Dinner
The friendly folks at the Lincoln County Assembly of God, 672 Main St., Damariscotta, will provide a free, takeout-only Christmas dinner for the community, with pickup available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Christmas Day, Friday, Dec. 25.
Edgecomb Community Church Thankful Tree
The Edgecomb Community Church has put up a special holiday tree in front of the church building. The Thankful Tree is a way for community members to recognize the many things they are grateful for during the pandemic.

Families Fundraising for Injured Edgecomb Man
On Oct. 1, Mike ReQua was cutting down a large tree on his property when it snagged the tree next to it. The tree instantly snapped it off and struck him from behind, leaving him with multiple life-threatening injuries.
