Greetings, friends. Well, she’s gone and done it. Mom picked up a pumpkin plant from Pinkham’s Plantation. Apparently, this plant is a seedling from a 2,000-plus-pound pumpkin. Yup, 2,000 pounds of Halloween glory. Mom says we are more than halfway to October. This makes her very happy. I will keep you posted on how it goes.
In Nature ‘Coon (and Cat and Birds)
The only animal who would accomplish such a mess on my front doorstep is a raccoon. I suppose he was after earthworms or other tasty invertebrate dainties. Knowing ‘coons, I wonder if it was just a lot of fun to dig in soft dirt and turn over plant pots.

Luckily, our local farmers were prepared for those temperature swings, and have a lot of fresh spring produce to share with you.
