Maine School of Science and Mathematics, Maine’s only magnet high school and one of the few public boarding schools in the country, earned first place at the 45th annual Maine State Math Meet at the Augusta Civic Center on Tuesday, April 2.

On March 15, three Lincoln Academy students who attend classes at Bath Regional Career and Technical Center won medals at the SkillsUSA statewide Career and Technical Education Competition, which took place in Bangor.

Since November, students in third through fifth grade have been delighted to share a hydroponic growing system.

On Saturday, March 23, 26 Medomak Valley High School students participated in the Maine State Science Fair, which was shifted at the last minute to a virtual setting with a single 10-15 minute Zoom interview with their judges.

At Camp Mummichog, Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust’s summer day camp, nature education takes many forms: hands-on exploration, physical activity, art, music, writing, games, and more. All camp sessions are held at Coastal Rivers Salt Bay Farm on Belvedere Road in Damariscotta, a beautiful nature preserve featuring rolling fields, forest, and both fresh and saltwater marshes.

Lincoln Academy is once again partnering with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office to bring a School Resource Officer to the academy’s campus. Deputy Mark Fortin started working at Lincoln Academy on Jan. 31.

When Coastal Rivers Education Assistant Angela DesVeaux arrives at Great Salt Bay School on Wednesday mornings, she is typically greeted by eighth grade students who present her with one pressing question.
