Boothbay Region cheerleading squad placed fifth in State Class D championships, held at the Augusta Civic Center on February 11. Medomak Valley placed fifth in State Class B. Lincoln Academy girls basketball team wrapped up their KVAC season with a 48-36 win over Belfast. The Eagles finish the season with a 6-12 record. Lincoln was led by Mariam DeLisle with 22 points and Natalie Kaler 17, both career high marks. Belfast was led by Jaiden Philbrook with 11 points.
Wiscasset Boys Beat Vinalhaven Wolverines snap 68 game losing streak
Wiscasset boys basketball team came up big against Vinalhaven on Feb. 9, winning 47-43 to snap a 68 game losing streak that stretched over five years. The last time Wiscasset won a ball game was on Dec. 7, 2018.
Busline League Large School Division Playoffs Heat Up Medomak 7th girls, 8th boys advance
Oceanside 7th defeated Medomak 45-44 in an exciting Busline League Large School Division boys playoff game on Feb. 8. Scoring for Oceanside were R. Robertson 10, Nolton 10, G. Robinson 7, Meloy 4, Galley 4, Suterack 2 and Sedgewick and White 1 each. Scoring for Medomak were Jaydin Ruiz 14, Jacobby McDaniel 13, Grady Berry 8, Silas Ripley 4, Miles Luellen 3 and Judd Gamage 2.
Jeff Bradbury Memorial Ice Fishing Derby Saturday, February 18
The annual Jeff Bradbury Memorial Ice Fishing Derby will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Weigh-in will be held at the Damariscotta Lake Boat Launch off of Route 213 (Bunker Hill Road) in Jefferson. Fish must arrive by 3 p.m.
Bristol Boys, Nobleboro Girls Advance to Busline Championship Game Saturday, Feb. 11 at Lincoln Academy
Top seed Bristol boys basketball team defeated second ranked Woolwich 66-25 in the Busline League South Division championships on Feb. 8 to advance to the championship game, to be played on Feb. 11 at Lincoln Academy at 10 a.m. Leading the Blue Devils in scoring were Malachi Farrin with 27 points, Joey Crooker 17 and Koleman Chesebro 10. Woolwich was led by Jacob Colby-Bunell with 13.
Tuesday Night Basketball Round-Up
Lincoln Academy boys basketball team defeated Camden Hills in Rockport 68-59 on Feb. 7. Gabe Hagar settled four foul shots and Braxton Crockett two in the final 31 seconds to seal the win for the Eagles. Lincoln was led by Hagar with 16 points, Tucker Stiles 15, Lucas Houghton 14 and Jake Masters 13. Camden was led by Will Duke with 23 and Nolan Ames 19.
